Talking about Depression, Anxiety, and Faith next Fri 11/22

The videos from this mental health seminar, where DJ Chuang and family shared about living well with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, can be viewed online.

Come next Friday 11/22 to Torrance, California, where I am speaking about mental health. The event starts at 7:30pm and the location is the Bread of Life Church (2780 Lomita Blvd. Torrance, CA 90505).

I’m very grateful for this invitation to openly talk with the youth ministry and college group, that’s hosting this. The evening is open to all, so come one, come all. I’d love to meet you!

Event Description

The challenges of life in 21st century America has resulted in the next generation, those between ages 15 and 21, to have more stress than adults. That stress can often trigger mental health conditions that requires professional help.

However, Asian Americans are 3 times less likely than Caucasian Americans to seek mental health services. Our shame-based cultures cause too many of us to suffer in silence and the consequences affect even more people.

DJ Chuang will share from his own lived experiences with mental health. He will also speak about how families and churches can help those who struggle with mental illnesses like like depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and overwhelming stress.

My host for the event, Jason Low, recorded this conversation we had about mental health for the Breadcrumbs podcast.

Author and speaker, DJ Chuang joins Breadcrumbs for an extended conversation about mental health. DJ speaks about his own experience and provides great insight for churches working on being a safer place for the care of those struggling with mental health.
