Christian churches are more about sociology (than it’s paid attention to) than spirituality, religion, or theology. Social factors and demographics affect a churchgoers’ sense of belonging in a community, more than theological precision, for a majority of people, believe it or not. (Aside: half of U.S. church attenders go to churches larger than 400; and, multi-churching is a thing: 46% of churchgoers actively engage with more than one church; for the record, the most prolific church statistics guy is Ryan Burge)
And, that is (one reason) why is finding a church home is hard and challenging, especially for Christians who move & relocate in to a new residence. There are other reasons, as many as there are people with personal preferences in a customizable world in which we live.
Back in 2008, that’s like 18 years ago, I handcrafted this post, finding a church home in Irvine California, to help people find a church home in Orange County, California. That is a list of Bible-teaching churches.
Suppose there’s an English-speaking Asian American person who is looking for a church to belong to, where it’s not mostly Korean and significantly Chinese-American, and not ethnic Asian (where the church is not led in an Asian language) well, even AI isn’t smart enough to find those, yet.
A while back, I started to compile a list of English-speaking Asian American churches at multiasian.church/directory & statistically, this directory helps a significant number of people. And I love to help people. So when I heard a Chinese-American young adult looking for one that’d be more fitting for their spiritual belonging, I think one of these churches could fit better:
