Where to get 酸梅汤 Sour Plum Drink #suanmeitang
A wonderfully delicious Chinese beverage known as Suanmeitang 酸梅湯, aka Sour Plum Drink, is traditionally popular in parts of China and Taiwan, and you’d think it’d be available somewhere in popular Chinese areas here in the OC (Orange County, California).
Since I don’t read Chinese characters, it hasn’t been easy to find the restaurants and cafes that might have this suan mei tang drink. I did find a premade bottle at a Chinese grocery store, I think it was 99 Ranch, but supposedly a fresh-made drink would be much tastier. This is a short list of places I’m investigating [bold means confirmed, default is unconfirmed]:
- Black plum juice (A&J Restaurant)
- 酸梅湯(冰) (Four Sea Restaurant)
- Sour plum juice (Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle)
- and, a friend told me they’d have suanmeitang at Meet Fresh @ Diamond Jamboree
This blog post will be updated as I find it, so you can find it too. And elsewhere:
- Plum Juice / 酸梅湯 @ You and Me Cafe (Diamond Bar, CA)
