seeking conversational partners
a very good experience this weekend thus far, to be part of some ruminations about theology in the Asian American contexts.. it was definitely top shelf, much of it a few levels about my head, made it rattle quite a bit, but great to be in that midst, and to see the interaction between a dozen of thinkers doing their best in thinking. I found it fascinating to hear the language they used to rally and maneuver in the realm of ideas, and the new term that I picked up which is descriptive of my own journey is “finding conversational partners.” And that does provide a pointer to what I hope to have happen, as I post my journal online, that it would engage with some readers out there, and that they would become conversational partners to myself, and to some of my ideas. This kind of conversation is indeed where iron sharpens iron, where we can journey together through life, learn from one another, humbly at the foot of the Cross, because none of us have all the answers. And the more honest we can be about our questions, the better the trip.
