had a crazy dream this

had a crazy dream this week.. was at a conference with some key leaders, but it was a small room, crowded, and hot & muggy.. most everyone had dressed down into t-shirts and shirts, and bearing with the discomforts of the atmosphere, all in the name of sacrifice and “Christian” frugality.. it was obvious that no one was enjoying themselves, but they had to be there, and they made the best of it.. and when dinner time came around, the caterers had bailed, so we had to make do on our own; somebody got the idea of getting rotisserie chicken, and here we were, the plenary speaker had to roll up his sleeves, and cut into the chicken, and we served people on paper plates.. so I’m feeling sorta disgusted that this was the best we could do to show hospitality to our key leaders.. something is warped in our conservative subculture that we can’t enjoy the fruits of our labor, and we’re practically _always_ suffering and sacrificing and enduring.. hey, life is tough enough as it is, we don’t have to pile on more difficulties… (this one is for the one faithful reader of these journals; if I find out there’s a few more, maybe I would be more motivated to write more often, eh?)
