add one more road trip,

add one more road trip, this one by train: to New York City!.. an early Christmas celebration in the Big city for the Chuang family, pictures forthcoming.. we enjoyed many sights and sounds and tastes, including the real deal: street vendor pretzel; New York style pizza; dumplings, fried rice, and custard tarts from Chinatown; cheesecake and a hot pastrami sandwich (from Roxy’s Deli at Time Square).. rode around many parts of Manhattan on the 7-day unlimited Metrocard, and even the indoor ferris wheel at Toys R Us Time Square (we rode along with Mr. & Mrs. Potatohead).. and a somber numbing visit to Ground Zero.. lots of people around, all hours of the day and night.. lately i’ve pondered the brevity of life, as I look at the faces of young and old, and also reflected on the thousands who perished at the WTC.. that just around the corner I’ll be on the older side of the masses (if I’m not already), and with all the responsibility and wisdom that comes with that.. my mortality is certain.. giving thanks for each breath that God gives to me in the here and now, and so far, what I’ve figured out is I don’t want to waste my life away on frills or vain pleasures.. this year I’ve discovered much about myself, and am now taking more intentional steps of taking better care of myself and my body, learning about some of its sensitivities.. it’s more than aging; it is my life….. on a tech note– while away, the stats code on my web site went kaput for a few days, bummer.. now it’s fixed. 🙂
