1 down 1 to go

My web hosting switch is complete. (Tech talk: It took less than 12 hours for the new DNS settings to propagate to the server that I use at work, but it took just under 48 hours [2 days] for it to propagate to the Verizon DSL server I use at home.)

While I had a very good 2-year run with web hosting at Total Choice Hosting, with excellent customer service, I was less than happy about these email alert notifications:

The domain djchuang.com has reached 80% of its bandwidth limit.
Please contact the system admin as soon as possible.

I had been looking for a web host for a while— appreciate those who left comments. I switched to DreamHost.com, and now I should have no more bandwidth problems for a while. Now I am free to blog more often. 🙂

And, I’m almost finished with editing and layout for the forthcoming book, Asian American Youth Ministry. Should have it published before the week is out! I’m getting a proof copy first, then if everything looks okay, I’ll open the store in 2 weeks or less!

[update: previous blog posts about the editing of the book, status on editing, the youthworkers forum that led up to the book, sneak peek at the live online bookstore]

The book will be self-published by L2 Foundation http://www.L2Foundation.org and available for purchase online and via Amazon marketplace. I’m anticipating having all of that in place by May 19th or sooner. (I just uploaded my final manuscript last night and ordered a proof copy of the book, so I can make sure the binding and cover all fit together nice and neatly first.)

Here’s the blurb from the back cover:

Find practical answers in this handy resource! Get an inside look at the practical insights from the perspective of practitioners, who collectively have over 100 years of experience in Asian American youth ministry, as they share about the intergenerational church, student leadership, and vital outreach.
