Today and tomorrow, I’m attending this inspiring conference on generosity, giving, and stewardship called Exponential 07, hosted at Saddleback Church, sponsored by Crown Financial Ministries and Generous Giving. Both of the sponsors’ websites have excellent articles and resources related to money.
Don’t know if I’ll run into anyone who reads this blog, but who knows, I could be pleasantly surprised.

This was the first time I’ve ever attended a conference like this, that put a solid spiritual framework around the concepts of managing money and connecting it to giving generously. I’d kind of known it in the abstract, but translating it into the practical and specific had always been challenging for me. I have to confess that I’ve never liked managing money. Not that I don’t want enough money to provide for me and my family’s needs, and to have enough to give to others, nor am I in a financial crisis, but the teachings at the conference helped me to realize that if I can better manage money that’s been entrusted by God to me, that I could experience more freedom and more joy in giving and the rest of life. And, there are helpful tools and resources for me to learn to do that. I still won’t love it, but it is a good thing.
