i'm back... jobs i've had. so many. i've had lots of odd jobs, sometimes working two or three jobs at a time. all of them brief. locksmith, tdy operator, online editor/web designer for local newspaper, telemarketing, burger king, cancer center radiation oncology assistant, office clerk, operations manager, QA/business analyst (pharma), bilingual (spanish) tech support, IT contractor, supermarket bakery/deli associate, and maybe one or two other things that i can't remember. i liked tech support the best, but hated the slumping wages, not learning anything new after a while, and being leashed to the telephone. i had aspirations of becoming a systems analyst but never got around to it.

i am still looking for my niche. i have creative bursts which make me think i might have an aptitude ( and love) for writing. but that may be more of a hobby. for my next job, i'd like to get into some kind of consulting role. something were i could roll in, provide valuable insights/information/training to get the ball rolling for companies. then bounce to another company without having to sit through the gory details and growing pains. why have i not done this yet? my trepidation comes at not having the right subject/field/area of expertise to be able to give 'valuable insights/information/training' on.

What about you? how's your career going?

blackgypsy, Thanks for your comment! My Myers-Briggs are INTP, so very close, but not identical. I'd be more curious to learn what kind of careers and jobs you've worked.

I don't know anyone here, but I stumbled upon this blog because my number one strength according to this test is "learner," so I'm here to, well, learn. I have been curious to see if others share several of my strengths and what they're like.

My top five came back as:

Learner, Deliberate, Context, Analytical, Achiever.

Sounds like you would be great as the catalyst for team session on strategy and orienting, and gathering people to agreed plans. The step back and let others action them.

Out of all the things I have engaged with, myers brigss, disc, enneagram, this tool has been the most life directing and helpful. I took the test end of last year and have been working through it with a UK qualified coach.

Mine are:
Focus: People strong in the Focus theme can take a direction, follow
through, and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. They
prioritize, then act.

Learner: People strong in the Learner theme have a great desire to learn
and want to continuously improve. In particular, the process of
learning, rather than the outcome, excites them.

Achiever: People strong in the Achiever theme have a great deal of
stamina and work hard. They take great satisfaction from being busy and
productive.

Activator: People strong in the Activator theme can make things happen
by turning thoughts into action. They are often impatient.

Intellection: People strong in the Intellection theme are characterized
by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate
intellectual discussions.

Now I know you asked about you...so enough of me.
